PTA Committees

We are always looking for volunteers for our PTA commitees. We welcome any amount of time that you can dedicate to the PTA. If you are interested in volunteering on one or more of our the PTA committees,  please email with your name and committee(s) of interest in the subject line.

Please note that all PTA committee volunteers must be current Pearsontown PTA members in good standing.

Advocacy – Develop and organize meetings, activities, and programs to further develop the goals and purposes of the PTA.

Audit Committee – Audit the PTA’s financials monthly and at the end of the year.

Beautification Committee -Work to enhance the outdoor and indoor environments at Pearsontown to improve the experiential and learning qualities for students, teachers, staff, parents, and community.  We host two events a year, the Fall and Spring campus clean-ups, which include environmental stewardship, gardening, and other campus improvements.   But, we also have other committee-based improvement projects throughout the year where we welcome additional help and expertise.

Fundraising Committee – Assist with the planning and execution of all PTA fundraising efforts including Boosterthon and Dining Days/Nights Out, Box Tops/Coke Rewards/Tyson, and any other fundraisers.

Media Center – Long term and short term plans to improve Pearsontown’s Media Center.

Membership & Nominating Committee – Maintain membership database, look for talented individuals to serve as board members for the next school year, prepare slate of candidates for the final general body meeting of the current school year

Wellness Committee-Plan, organize, and execute wellness related events (i.e. walk to school, bike to school, etc.) throughout the school year.

Open House Committee – Assist with the PTA portion of Open House (merchandise sales, school pick up tags, volunteer sign up table), recruit volunteers to help with Open House which normally takes place the Thursday before the first week of school.

Staff Appreciation Committee – Assist with the planning and execution of staff appreciation events for staff (early release lunches, staff birthdays, staff appreciation week events, other staff appreciation events)

  • Staff Appreciation Committee Update:
    Several months throughout the school year, the Staff Appreciation Committee provides lunch for our wonderful staff! 

    We like to have one grade level sponsor for each lunch, and here’s the line-up for this year:
    August 15, 5th grade
    September 19, 4th grade*
    October 17, 3rd grade*  Sign up HERE to donate for this lunch!
    December 5, 2nd grade
    February 13, 1st grade*
    March 13, Kindergarten*
    *We’re still looking for 1-2 parent representatives for these grades. If you’re interested, contact the Staff Appreciation Committee and/or attend our next meeting.

Yearbook– Our mission is to produce an accurate, fun, original publication that through pictures, excerpts, quotes, and more, thoroughly reflects the school pulse, represents the diversity of the student body, and highlights activities of the year, being respectful of all members of the school community without bias, that the entire student body and faculty can feel proud to be included in.
